The SoFlo Awards Helps Dancer “Mundo” of Ravers Clavers with Life Saving Surgery
In support of Jamaican dancer, Ricardo “Mundo” Gordon of Ravers Clavers, The SoFlo Dancehall & Reggae Music Awards will donate partial proceeds from this years event to assist with the expenses for his kidney transplant.
Ft. Lauderdale, FL- Jamaican Dancer Ricardo “Mundo” Gordon of popular dance crew Ravers Clavers, needs the support of the reggae community to help with his kidney transplant. The SoFlo Dancehall & Reggae Music Awards has recognized the importance of helping Mundo and will donate partial proceeds from this years event. The Award Ceremony takes place on Sunday, March 20, 2010 inside the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Theater located at 1770 Monroe Street, Hollywood, FL.
Mundo has played a pivotal role in the Dancing Fraternity, and after his announcement of his life threatening kidney condition sent a shock-wave through the industry. Sharon Burke, Bounty Killer, Serani, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Cory Todd, Mavado, Timberlee and the Ravers Clavers Family are some of the individuals that has ran to his aid. “I feel so blessed by the love so many people have shown me. My mother has written countless letters to companies and organizations in Jamaica and nobody is responding.
Thank God for the emergency Medicaid in the states and my family because I don’t know what I would of done,” said Mundo. The surgery will cost $250,000 (J$21 million) and currently J$500,000 has been raised. SoFlo Reggae & Dancehall Awards founder Ann Marsh said, “When I heard about his illness I knew we had to do something, and the award show was perfect. We hope to provide him with a larger platform to get the message out.”
